    Ebay item 3/30/05
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $11,201.00 (Reserve not met), 30 bids, 5 days left in auction. Buy it now price $23,850.

    Sellers description:
I have owned this Series 1 E-type Fixed Head Coupe since 1992, and have, over that period, performed a major restoration. This Coupe is not a "show car" but will make a strong driver. The restoration includes new wiring harnesses; rebuilt and plated front suspension; top end of engine rebuilt by the mechanic who did the engine in the E-type displayed in the New York Museum of Modern Art; rebuilt SU carburetors; front brakes and master cylinder; rebuiilt throttle linkage; all new leather interior; new headliner; and many other new pieces such as fan motor, water pump, surge tank, rebuilt radiator, among others. The car needs two newer wheels and four new tires; radio knobs; and sun visors. The bonnet has several small scratches, on a mediocre paint job which was on the car when purchased, protected by touch up paint that does not quite match. Accordingly, several areas need sanded out and resprayed with the original Maroon exterior paint. All lights, switches, radio and heater blower work. The car is quick, runs great and has good oil pressure and does not overheat. The numbers match and even the body number remained in chalk on the hatch when I replaced the hatch panel. Actual mileage is unknown. This fine E-type is located at Canyon Lake, Texas and can be delivered, there, at San Antonio or Austin, Texas.

Great example of one of the top 3 production cars of all time has had a major rebuild by it's previous owner. It is not a "show car" but is a great driver and will do well in any show. It has a new wiring harness, rebuilt front suspension, engine top end rebuild by noted Jaguar mechanic, rebuilt SU carburetors, Rebuilt front brakes and master cylinder, rebuilt throttle linkage, new leather interior, new headliner, new Kenlow fan motor, Optima battery, water pump, surge tank, rebuilt radiator, radio knobs, and sun visors. The paint is acceptable, not perfect. all lights, switches, radio, and heater blower work. The car is quick, runs great and has good oil pressure. Numbers match but actual mileage is unknown. The car is in San Antonio, Texas.

    1967 Jaguar E Type FHC
Matching number car with significant mechanical upgrades

This Series One E Type coupe has benefited from several significant mechanical upgrades. It retains its original matching number engine, but has had triple 45 DCOE Weber carbs fitted as well as a desirable five speed transmission, an alloy radiator and fairly recent Dayton wire wheels. Although the car is presently running and driving, it has been sitting for several months and would benefit from a thorough service prior to being put back on the road.

Cosmetically, the car is a little rough around the edges. The footwells have been replaced rather crudely with aftermarket panels, but overall this E Type is quite solid and could certainly be used and enjoyed in its current state. It is a car that could be driven and gradually restored, without taking it off the road for extended periods. In essence, this is a running and driving restoration project.

    Price: $59,500

Sold strictly 'as is, where is' with no warranty of any kind being offered. Clear title conveys to the new owner.

For an appointment to view, please email or call (512) 288 8800.

Cosmetically, the car is a little rough around the edges. The footwells have been replaced rather crudely with 'home made' repair panels, and the right hand sill has a fair amount of rust bubbling up beneath the paint, but overall this E Type is quite solid and could certainly be used and enjoyed in its current state. The lower rear quarters, boot floor, bonnet, doors and rear floors are unusually solid.

This is a car that could be serviced, driven and gradually restored, without taking it off the road for extended periods. In essence, this is a running and driving restoration project.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.
