Ebay item 8/18/18
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-4-2-LITER-SERIES-1-COUPE/372372403196
Car has a buy it now price of $85,000 for 20 days, seller kurttannermotorcars, 55k miles.
Sellers description:
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this extremely nice and attractive 4.2 E-type Coupe. This car was just purchased from it's long term Southern physician owner. It is finished in the superb factory color scheme of Silver Grey with Dark blue interior, a nice combination for such a pretty, closed car. It was nicely restored cosmetically some years back.
The body and paintwork on this car is excellent save for some minor blemishes due to the age of the paintwork. The car presents beautifully overall with no glaring issues and has excellent panel fit and gapping to all of the edges. Chrome work is also in very good to excellent condition overall, as well as the glass.
The car's interior was carefully renewed at some point and presents extremely well here, too, with everything fitting and operating properly like it should. The seats are showing little to no wear in correct dark blue leather hide. Carpets are correct Wilton wool. Headliner materials are also correct along with the panel kit vinyls.
The car's engine starts easily on the key, revs well, and shows all signs of a very healthy unit. This E-type drives fantastically with a superb strong-pulling engine, great gearbox and clutch, good brakes, nice wheels and smooth tires.
The car's underside looks very solid with evidence of a newer stainless exhaust system fitted. Included is the original jack, knock-off hammer, spare wheel.
Overall, an attractive matching numbers car in the desirable last year (1967), Series One configuration with covered headlights and triple carburettors. This car can be used and enjoyed in it's overall lovely condition as is, for many years going forward, by it's next lucky caretaker.

This 1967 Jaguar XKE coupe is powered by a numbers-matching 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and finished in silver over dark blue leather upholstery. Equipment includes triple SU side-draft carburetors, covered headlights, 15″ chrome wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a push-button Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. The car was distributed through Jaguar Cars of New York and acquired by the seller in California in 2018. Service in January 2021 consisted of replacing the brake calipers, rotors, and pads, as well as a door latch and hinge, and the front tires were replaced in June 2022. This XKE coupe is now offered with recent service records, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean California title.
Originally finished in Dark Blue, the car was repainted in silver under previous ownership. Exterior features include a louvered hood, glass headlight covers, chrome bumpers with overriders, and dual exhaust outlets. The owner notes evidence of metal repair, and the lower front portion of the left rocker panel is cut short. Paint bubbles, rock chips, and scratches are present around the body, and trim is missing from the rear hatch window and between the left headlight and bumper.
Chrome 15” wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-offs and wear 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, the fronts of which were replaced in June 2o22. A full-size spare is found in the rear storage area. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with the rear units situated inboard. The calipers, rotors, and pads were replaced in January 2021 by Steve’s Jaguar Service of Canoga Park, California. The seller notes the left front wheel is missing spokes, and the right rear wheel is missing a singular spoke.
The cabin is upholstered in dark blue leather with a matching dashboard, panels, center console, and carpeting. Equipment includes a Simpson four-point harness, a heater, a center armrest, and a push-button Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. The driver’s door hinge and passenger door latch were replaced in January 2021.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles, approximately 4k of which were added by the current owner. The odometer is currently inoperable, and the total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque when new.
Engine stamping 7E9531-9 matches the number on the chassis plate and the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is present on the underside.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate indicates a manufacture date of June 28, 1966, and lists the factory serial numbers and colors.
The car is titled in California using engine number 7E95319.
