Sellers description:
1967 Jaguar E Type - Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe - I have owned Jaguars for nearly forty years since then and this is my second Carmen Red Series I coupe!
This is certificated as a numbers-matching car by the Jaguar Heritage Trust. Certificate is included. This was originally a California car (note the dealer-installed emergency flashers and J-67 plate) which was dispatched from the Coventry factory on 25 May 1966.. It was restored about ten years ago by Classic Showcase in Oceanside, California, in an engine-out restoration (DVD video included) and has only been driven about 3,000 miles since that time.
The only concession since the restoration was the replacement of the single, thermostat-activated, two-bladed radiator fan with a multi-blade constant speed fan. It makes summer driving in city traffic in the notoriously hot and humid Great Lakes region less of an adventure and a lot more practical! If you are a purist (and live somewhere cooler) the switch back is not a big deal.
This car has been meticulously maintained by one of the finest Jaguar mechanics in the Midwest (reference available). It runs like a sewing machine, handles like a Thoroughbred, stops like it has a 10,000 pound anchor out back. And the sound of that inline six engine compared to American muscle cars is like high opera compared to heavy metal.
This car includes the jack and a complete, original tool kit. Also included are some original sales material and reproduction owner's manual. If you can find a nicer E-Type coupe, then buy it. So why am I selling this car that I so dearly love? I am getting old, I need to downsize, and I don't want my kids to have to sell it at a fire sale. I want it to go to someone who will love and care for it for future generations. They don't make 'em like this anymore. We need to preserve them.

This 1967 Jaguar E-Type is a Series I coupe which came to New York in 1966 and was originally finished in Primrose Yellow over black. The car was refurbished circa 2005 with a repaint in Carmen Red by Classic Showcase of Oceanside, California, prior to its acquisition by the seller in 2006. Power is from a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes chrome knock-off wire wheels and a period radio. Approximately 3k miles have been driven under current ownership, during which maintenance has been carried out by the seller and a local specialist. The hood was refinished, the remainder of the paint detailed, and an oil change performed in 2018. This Series I E-Type is offered with a DVD showcasing the 2005 work, owner’s and service manuals, a JHT certificate, coffee table books, a factory tool roll, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
The glass and engine were reportedly removed for a 2005 repaint in the same color, while the hood was refinished again in 2018 to correct bubbling according to the seller. The balance of the finish was reportedly buffed and polished following the 2018 work.
Chrome wire wheels are mounted with eared knock-off spinners and wear Michelin radial tires. A spare wheel, jack, knock-off mallet, and tool roll are housed beneath the rear hatch floor.
Black leather covers low-backed bucket seats with lap restraints. A period Blaupunkt AM radio is fitted and said to function properly, and the seller points out a period Lucas hazard light switch mounted on the underside of the dash at the driver’s left. A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths gauges including a five-digit odometer indicating 7k miles, with total mileage unknown. The seller states that he has driven 3k miles over 13 years of ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features dual overhead camshafts and breathes through triple SU carburetors with a stock airbox. The engine was reportedly removed during the 2005 refurbishment, and the engine bay was detailed prior to reinstallation. Service under current ownership has reportedly been performed by the seller with help from a local British specialty mechanic. The thermostatic radiator fan switch has been bypassed in an effort to provide better cooling in hot weather.
The cylinder head is cast with number 7E9067-8, matching both the underhood data plate and the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate below. An oil change was performed in November 2018 according to the seller. A fully-synchronized four-speed manual transmission routes power to the rear wheels. Independent suspension and rear disc brakes were standard at all four corners, with the latter inboard at the rear.
A Production Record Trace Certificate from the Jaguar Heritage Trust lists the original color scheme, equipment, and other production information. Literature includes an owner’s manual and supplement, a spare parts catalog, wiring diagrams, and a collection of Jaguar histories and coffee table books. A DVD covering general aspects of the 2005 work is included in the sale.
