I am the original owner, having ordered and purchased it in 1966. I sold it in 1969 and have tried to find it for the last 5 to 10 years without luck. Still think this year/model is one of the 5 best cars ever designed. Drove it to the top of the speedometer a number of times and found it to be extremely stable at speed.

    Hello David,
Very excited to read your comment on my restoration of 1E32930! Finally I found someone who should be able to tell me the story of the black/black option offered back in 1966/67, apparantly to American customers only. The black/black color combination is not mentioned in any factory brochure or dedicated book on E-types. I only know that the original 1966 Los Angeles showcar, introducing the new 4.2L to the American market, featured the black/black option for the first time. Do you know the story why? Must be, you ordered one new yourself!

Gooday dave, Have you had any success in finding your jag? I have recently purchased 1E33791. It is a black with black interior fhc 1966. I loved the period photos you posted. I have just started to enjoy mine after sorting a few driveline and tuning issues. It seems like a totally different car. Absolutely fantastic. I am puzzled over the black and black combo, but figured it was a special order. Good luck with your search. Adrian

Just posted a picture of one of the original keys to my 66 Etype coupe.
I've had it all these years; I still haven't found the car but hope I find the car
abandoned someplace with the key in my hand!!!
