This 1965 Jaguar XKE is a Series I coupe powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and it is finished in yellow over black. Additional equipment includes triple SU side-draft carburetors, covered headlights, chrome wire wheels, and a push-button radio. Maintenance completed in 2022 is said to have included replacement of the fuel pump and tires, and the seller states that the car will require inspection and servicing of the brakes before it is road worthy. Acquired by the current owner from its reported original owner in 2005, this XKE is now offered on dealer consignment with a transferable New York State registration document.
The body is said to have been refinished in Pale Primrose Yellow during prior ownership. Features include recessed headlights with clear covers, split chrome bumpers with guards, a vented hood equipped with dual mirrors, a sloping roofline with a side-opening hatch, and taillights mounted over the rear bumpers.
Chrome 15” knock-off wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-offs and wear Coker Classic redline tires that were mounted in 2022. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with the rear units situated inboard, and the selling dealer notes the brake system will require inspection and servicing before it is road worthy.
Cabin finishes include black leather upholstery on the seats, door panels, and center armrest along with matching carpeting and a black dashboard. Equipment includes a heater, a push-button radio, an array of toggle switches for vehicle functions, and safety belts for both occupants.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a collection of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles.
The twin-cam 4.2L inline-six features a trio of SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The fuel pump was replaced in 2022 according to the selling dealer, who notes a leak is present from the coolant overflow bottle and the clutch requires adjustment.
The car’s serial number 1E32339 the New York State registration document lists the car’s identification number as 32339.
The car does not have a title, as it is currently registered in a state that does not issue titles for vehicles of its age. It is being sold with its New York registration document.
