Sellers comment:
This georgeous 1966, XKE Jaguar coupe with a 4.2 liter, 6 cylinder with a 4 speed is fabulous machine. This is the year that the real collectors want. The glass covered headlight lenses, the 1st year of the 4.2, the 1st year that Jaguar manufactured its own transmission and the 1st year with a synchronized 1st gear. The 4.2 liter motor is the most wanted and dependable motor according to the experts that I have talked to. It is the dual overhead cam and it runs like a swiss watch. It shows 72K miles and it looks to be original miles. The paint is not original but is very presentable. This stock Jaguar blue with a rich blue leather interior is a wonderful color combination, with matching carpet that is in excellent shape. The rich blue leather on the seats is in supurb shape and shows no wear. The dash has no cracks, the Smiths guages work as does the Lucas amps guage. All the lights, lenses, blinkers, marker lights, interior and exterior lights work wonderfully. The chrome on this magnificent machine is beautiful. The car looks to have never been wrecked or damaged, it is very straight and clean, with very few blemishes, all the doors, hood, and rear hatch open and close extraordinarily. It is getting harder to find a 1966, E-type and this one could be used for a daily driver. The dual chrome exhaust system is in excellent shape, it also has a rear reverse light that works great. It has a new battery, rebuilt carbuerators, and a motor that purrs and starts very easily. It is very responsive and dependable, the clutch and gear box is very tight and responsive. The drivability of this sleek sports car is phonominal. The stock telescoping steering wheel works excellent. The classic triple windshield wipers work great. The mohair headliner and sun visors are in excellent shape. The wire spoke wheels are all stock with a matching spoked spare, with new tires. The brakes work excellent. The car has very few flaws
Vehicle Condition
The few things that are wrong with this 1966 E-type coupe are: the paint is not original but is super presentable in the stock Jaguar blue, it has a few chips and small amount of bubbling in the undercarriage area but VERY MINIMAL, this car has been garaged and cared for, the previous owner was in the Oregon Jaguar club, he owned it for 10 years and he knew what he had and how to take care of it, one small chrome strip by the drivers window that needs replacing, there is one small crease right front fender it is hard to see. The undercarriage of the car is very solid and clean and has been well taken care of. The motor starts easily and purrs. The rich blue interior, door panels and rear inside the car is supurb, very stock and clean. The electrical system is excellent, the lights, lenses and guages are beautiful. This 1966 E-type coupe would be a wonderful piece for your collection, it was for mine, I am selling it to help buy some property, although, I hate to part with it, I am letting it go for a great price.
