Ebay item 5/6/16
MotorCarTrader.com is very excited to offer this exceptional 1965 Jaguar E-type Series I Fixed Coupe. This great E-type was built on January 14 of 1965 and the date of dispatch was January 28th of 1965. The Jaguar E-type presented here is an all numbers matching car as per the Jaguar Heritage Certificate included with the car. It was finished in the stunning color combination of black with red interior. This wonderful Coupe underwent a complete ground up and rotisserie restoration completed in 1994. It was completely disassembled and a well done restoration. Pictures of the restoration are also included. The engine was also rebuilt during this restoration when the mileage was set back to zero and the current mileage reflects miles since the engine was rebuilt. We purchased this Jaguar on 10/26/2015 and the car needed a refreshening to make it a driver/show quality car again. More details on the work we did to this car recently:
New rear calipers installed with brake system flushed with new fluid.
New clutch slave cylinder installed and bled system.
New Valve cover gaskets
Valve cover, all carburetors components and intake manifold all polished.
Engine completely detailed.
Carburetors tuned and set up.
New stainless steel exhaust installed.
Exhaust manifolds ceramic coated for longevity.
New water pump installed.
New fuel sending unit.
New chrome over riders installed. (Amco Bar was previously installed)
New cap, rotor, champion plugs and plug wires installed.
New Red Interior installed, including new leather seats with new seat foam.
New Center console kit with new foam.
New carpeting, new inner sill covers and new interior hardura kit.
New interior rear hatch panel, rear upper hatch surround finisher, new rear panel under hatch (rear door interior recovered).
New full headliner kit installed in gray.
New gray sun visors installed.
New paint and entire car buffed and polished. The paint has a mirror like shine and is absolutely stunning.
New Michelin tires.
New Windshield installed with new seals.
New rubber seals installed for rear vent windows as well as new seals installed for rear hatch window.
Sugar scoops (headlamp buckets) repainted.
All gaps are excellent and the rear hatch was adjusted for proper fit.
New Welsh Jaguar wooden polished steering wheel installed.
During the previous restoration, a Jaguar E-type Series 2 radiator/cooling fans set up was installed to keep the temperature cool on this car. I have driven this car in hot temperatures and the temperature stays in the middle and remains cool. In addition during the restoration, the car was placed on a rotisserie after the new floors were installed. The underside was all painted black with the same base clear quality as the exterior of the car. There is no undercoating on this car on the underside, wheel wells, above the rear end or anywhere. There is certainly no rust on this Jaguar E-type.
The engine is very strong and this car runs and drives perfectly. There are no noises in the gears, the clutch feels great, no binding in the steering wheel, no unusual noises or whining coming from the rear end and has excellent oil pressure as well as excellent compression. This Jag stops excellent and straight. It is the perfect driving car which immediately comes alive when you get on the throttle. The entire car is very tight and thrilling to drive.
Overall this car is an excellent show/driver car. This car is meant to be driven and enjoyed. I have driven this car and thoroughly enjoyed every mile. A great Series I coupe is a one of a kind driving experience. The color combination is striking and one of the most desirable color combinations on these cars. This is truly a great investment car with all numbers matching. The design is truly timeless, but it is not just a car that looks good, but also a usable sports car that is truly a pleasure to drive. This Jaguar E-type Fixed coupe will not disappoint.
