Seller comments:
1968 Jaguar E Type Fixed head coupe 1 ½ series. This is a one owner 69,000 mile car from new. It is all original and in very good condition. The car drives very well and it has a new MOT. On the bodywork there is some slight crazing on the roof and front of windscreen. If required you could replace the door rubbers and carpet etc. I am happy to send any photographs and any other information about the car which may be required. Although this is a one owner car, the V5 does show more than one owner but this can be explained easily as it is a one owner car. There was an article on this car in Jaguar World, May 2002.

Sellers comment:
This car is all original and one owner from new. Dark blue with black leather interior.. Drives exceptionally well. Showing only 68,000 miles which is genuine. Paintwork does show some signs of wear as it is all original and has some blow ins over the years. A respray could be advisable. The only modifications to the car are the wider tyres and rims but I do hav the original set of wires and tyres. Glass covers over the headlights on the bonnet. The previous owner preferred it this way but the bonnet is all original.

Brought to our Brokerage books by one of our current restoration clients is this December 1967, matching numbers Series 1 4. 2 RHD FHC with just 2 owners to its name.
The first owner was Mr Simon Green, the founder of the esteemed bespoke steering wheel company Moto-Lita, who purchased the car from K. D. M & Cherrington Ltd. of Berkeley Square in 1968. A copy of their original proforma invoice addressed to Mr Green dated 8th February 1968 has been provided in the cars documents. PYR 6F was also featured in an article written by Jim Patten "E-Type Jaguar - One owner from new" in the May 2001 issue of Classic Jaguar World. A copy of the magazine will also be included with the sale of the car. Simon Green was the custodian for 35 years until he sold it to Mayfair Motors in February 2003.
Fast forward to 2024 when one of our restoration customers brings his FHC E-Type to us to sell. Having owned the car since May 2004, he was the second custodian to enjoy years of classic car ownership. Years that included taking part in The Vaynor Classic in 2006 which took him and his daughter on a 70 mile route across the Shropshire / Powys border. In 2008, it was decided that PYR was in need of a freshening up since it had been 40 years since it was rolled off the production line, so M. V Classics of Hampshire were entrusted to carry out a full end-to-end restoration. Every component was stripped and either restored, or replaced, resulting in a car that is as good as the day Mr Green collected it from K. D. M & Cherrington back in 1968.
The car comes with an extensive history folder and as such, is a special Series 1 example which would benefit from continental touring, or could form an important part of any classic car collection.
