Details
From it's launch in 1961 to it's demise in 1975, the E-Type maintained the mantle of the most beautiful sports car in the world. While the Roadster may top the classic price poll, it was always the fixed head coupe that took the prize for the most beautiful E-Type, especially the Series One.
Offered here is one of the finest examples of a Series One E-Type you are likely to find, no matter how thorough your search. Having been the property of retired army captain for 30 years, the car was driven to Sussex, where it was presented to the vendor as a 50th birthday gift. At that time the car was a perfectly useable example of an E-Type, which had covered just 39, 000 miles in total. This fact is supported by the previous owner.
Since being acquired by the vendor, the car has been subjected to a comprehensive, nut and bolt restoration, which is fully documented with a log and photographs. The vendor stresses that the quality of the restoration is of the very highest standard leaving no area of the car untouched. The car is finished to concours standards and has already won 1st prize in the Brighton and Hove Motor Club Concour D' Elegance.
Finished in Carmen red with black leather interior, the car is simply stunning in every department. It sits on immaculate chrome wire wheels and is offered complete with the original owners handbook pack, which includes the service booklet, lubrication chart and tuning guide. The original Jack and bag, tool kit and green registration log book are also present and correct.
Superlatives in print cannot do this car justice, the quality has to be seen to be fully appreciated but to complete this extraordinary package the car is also offered complete with the registration SER 142E.
Note: This description is provided by the vendor and unless otherwise stated is 'Not Verified' by Barons or any person employed by Barons. Prospective purchasers are advised to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of any statements made, whether they be statements of fact or opinion.
Estimate £55, 000 - 60, 000

This beautiful red FHC passed me outside our cottage on 19th September 2015 at 5 past noon.
I had to do a second take after it drove by me as I didn't instantly figure out the registration. The place seen is where this year's Tour Ecosse (nl) route came across from Longformacus to join the B6365 heading north at Ellemford phone box. Sorry no photo but I'm sure the car will be regularly spotted in Scotland.
