Desirable Jaguar E-type 4.2 Series 1
Extensively refurbished example
Fast appreciating automotive icon
From the Estate of the Late Ian Cummins

This fabulous Jaguar E-type is a desirable 4.2 Series 1 car, benefiting from the torquier engine and synchro gearbox. According to the history file supplied with the car, the Jaguar was delivered through local agents Brysons to James McGwan of Bourke Street, Melbourne on September 8, 1967 and registered on plates VX-335. Periodically serviced by Bryson Industries and Clemens Sporting Car Services Pty Ltd, the last stamp in the book was in 1974 at 33,613 miles. As documented by the many registration papers still with the car, the E-type remained in Victoria for many years, previously owned by Kenneth Collins of Beaumaris, who sold the E-Type at the inaugural Melbourne Classic car Show in November 1985 to Robert Eadie of Victoria, who then onsold to a friend Michael Stafford of Bannockburn in 1987 with the mileage showing just over 51,000 miles at the time of purchase. Stafford drove the Jaguar regularly until 2007, keeping a detailed log and record of work carried out, and appears to have been fastidious about maintaining the car in first class condition. Ticking all the boxes, this exceptional E-type remains in the original colour scheme and joined Ian Cummins' extensive collection several years ago. Sold unregistered, the E Type comes supplied with an extensive history file and the original maintenance book.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
