Car was at auction 5/10/06
http://www.brightwells.com/3rdparty/orphanspress/classiccars/results_cars.php?sale=100506#

Auction description:
Body colour: Red
Date Manufactured: 1966
Registration Number: LAX 119D
Chassis Number: IE21463
Engine: cc: 4200
History:
As its accompanying Heritage Certificate indicates, this car was manufactured in December 1966 and was first supplied to Henly?s of Manchester. Originally dark blue with a black leather interior, it was treated to a five-year photographic restoration by a previous owner and comes with a fat sheaf of invoices totalling over ?12,000 for parts alone. This included the fitment of a rebuilt replacement engine, a stainless steel exhaust, new headlining and a Motalita steering wheel.

Put back on the road in May 2004, it is said to be a good rust-free example that is now ready to drive anywhere in complete confidence. Widely regarded as a better car than the far more expensive roadster (and, to these eyes at least, better looking to boot), the Series 1 FHC is steadily narrowing the price gap between itself and its ragtop cousin. Buy now while you can still afford it!

Guide price 14,500

Hi There,
Just to let you know that I am now the proud owner of this car which I bought from a nice gentleman in the UK in 2007. It rides very well, is indeed rust free and has been a real pleasure driving since. It now resides in Belgium with me.
cheers
Erik

A great car to drive I am currently getting into "near concours" state through rollling small restauration (original tyres width, review of brakes etc.)

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
