Auction description:
1965 Jaguar E-type fixed-head coupe
Registration No: DYW 909C
Chassis No: 1E20361
Engine No: 7E30S4-9
Registered on the 25.3.65, this 4.2 fixed head is in fabulous order throughout. In its first ownership for 35 years, the car has been meticulously maintained to this day and is only with its second keeper. Owned by the director of Overdale Engineering, the car was his pride and joy and notes of works done were listed in the manuals and on scraps of paper (many bills being kept by the company for accounting purposes).
The recorded mileage of 92,757 is believed correct and the paperwork goes some way to substantiate this. Although in excellent condition when bought, the current owner wanted to satisfy himself as to the genuine condition of the car. To this end, a bare metal repaint was initiated and the car was found to have no rot at all. A small repair was made to the area behind the rear numberplate and photographs were taken at all stages of progress. New window rubbers have been fitted and the original chrome work, in fair original condition has been retained. All seams and box-sections have been wax-oyled.
The underside of the car is in excellent order and all worn parts of the suspension have been repaired or replaced where necessary. In the last 1,000 miles the rear axle has also been fully serviced and a new set of Michelin XAS tyres fitted. The car now drives extremely well.
Finished in Old English White with a black leather interior, this correctly-numbered, manual gearbox car is offered for sale with one years MoT test and a good history folder.
Estimate £18,000-20,000
