Ebay item 11/21/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-SERIES-1-1-2-ROADSTER-MINT-FULL-HISTORY-/1 ...
Current bid $1,026 reserve not met, 2 bids 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
I have owned this Series 1 1/2 roadster since the fall of 1980.
It was delivered new to Robert Sidler in Truro, Nova Scotia, as can be seen by copies of the original Manufacturers Warranty.
This is a matching numbers car, including the engine, transmission, body and chassis.
I painted the car way back in 1983 in its' original colour of Jaguar Blue. Paint is excellent. The paintwork looks like it is 1 year old.
During my almost 30 years!! of ownership I have always maintained the car.
Most recently I spent over $35,000 with Predator Performance with a view to getting her up to JCNA show standards as well as any mechanical needs.
Some of the items done by Predator include pulling the engine and having Terry's Jaguar freshen the heads. The front subframe was painted, all nuts bolts etc. were either replated as original, or replaced with correct parts.
In most cases original parts were plated as per factory finishes and re-installed.
In addition a new British canvas top was installed, along with a new wood tack strip.
The suspension received a complete detail. New clutch, new calipers, new wiring harness.
This was done as a precaution after 40 years. Approximate breakdown is $13,500.00 in parts,
$20,250.00 in labour and $2000.00 in powder coating and plating. This is truly a "No stories" E Type.
This car needs nothing.
As most Jaguar owners know, even the brand new porcelainized headers show signs of wear in just a few miles.
In this case maybe 15-20 miles. So, if you wish to show the car I have included a fresh set of porcelainized headers just for show.
As can be seen I had previously shown the car at JCNA and gotten great points.
However, as I said I wanted to go up to the next level, and here she is.
Tires are slim line Dunlop whitewalls as originally delivered.
Headlights are Lucas PL's.
I want to mention that all the work done was done for me, this was not a quickie job in order to sell. I had not intended to spend as much as I did, but I couldn't see taking short cuts.
This is a special car that I have owned and cared for, and know inside out.
Along with the original paperwork from the factory there is a complete tool kit, including the correct knock off hammer.
Please note that in 1968 in Canada the same pollution rules were not in place, as they were in the US as a result Canadian cars as the rest of the world came with 3 SU's. You are welcome to inspect in person.
In addition I can show prospective buyers the full bills from Predator, along with my 29 years of bills etc.
