Offered on ebay auction which finished on 15 Dec 2009. Asking $US85,000. One ofer of $US30,000 declined. Owner's description: "Available to own is a beautiful and well maintained 1957 Jaguar E-Type Convertible. This car is in wonderful conditions and has been completely restored with new interior, new paint and upgraded sound system. The car has hardly been driven and was mainly for show, but was kept in running condition.
The vehicle was updated with a new pioneer tape deck and speakers. The exterior paint looks like it just came off the show room floor. All four tires are like new. The black convertible top is brought up and back down manually.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
