Current bid $17,699 reserve not met, 4 bids, 6 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar E-type roadster, red with black interior and top. Original six-cylinder engine, entire car is as original with exception of after-market radio and cassette player. Solid body with no dents or ripples, although slight evidence of some work at bottom of driver's door. Excellent glossy red paint, all new chrome except for tail light bezels. Perfect leather seats with no rips or tears. Vinyl top as new, clear plastic window, matching boot cover. Excellent chrome wire wheels - knock-off wrench included. Car runs and drives well - documented mechanical work done before car entered the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Nov. 1999 - additional tune-up in Oct. 2006. Odometer shows 43,000 miles. Good tires.

The series 1 1/2 is most desirable, with the powerful and smooth-running 6-cylinder dohc engine and 4-speed gearbox. One of the most beautiful designs in the British sports car world.

This car is one of many cars donated to the Northeast Classic Car Museum which we from time to time may sell to support the programs and mission of the museum.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
