Advertised for sale on carsales .com.au 27 January 2019 with a an asking price of AUD$355,000. The seller’s description follows: “This Series1 4.2, numbers matching, unmolested roadster was sourced as a full restoration candidate for its rebirth. It was dispatched on the 22nd March 1968 to Jaguar Cars, New York USA making this one of last series 1 E-types produced. This E-type Jaguar was subsequently parked in a barn last registered since 1980 with low miles. This E-type has been subjected to a world class concours and documented restoration by the specialists at Jag E-type Restorations and Mike Roddy Jaguar in Melbourne. A complete tear down to the seams then built back up from a jig with meticulous attention to detail to retain as much of the original vehicle as it left England in the 60’s. A number of sympathetic upgrades were carried out during its rebirth including Series 2 brakes and vented discs all round, uprated torsion bars, fully adjustable suspension, aluminium radiator, lightened and balanced flywheel, unleaded cylinder head, stainless valves, bronze guides, uprated springs, large bore stainless exhaust system, programmed electronic ignition, polyurethane bushes used everywhere possible, wider triple lace wheels and countless more upgrades. Every last nut and bolt has been looked at and the result is this beautiful opalescent gunmetal grey with sexy red leather interior. Such great examples as this car is makes it a pleasure to drive and own and only appreciates in value as time goes by. Please, genuine enquires only and viewing of this rolling art is strictly by appointment only as the vehicle is in storage”.
