Sellers comment:
Beautiful example of Jaguar's XKE Roadster. Fourth owner, meticulously cared for. Frame-on restoration 12 years ago. Always garaged. Extensive mechanical work (valve job, new clutch, brakes, etc.) two years ago. All restoration done to orginal standards. Orignal drive train with matching numbers. Has scored an average of 9.95 in JCNA Concours driven class. Paint, top and interior excellent. Great driver.
Vehicle Condition
Car is in nearly perfect cosmetic condition; paint is excellent with no chips or significant flaws (two minor pits, virtually unnoticeable). Leather interior is excellent. Includes rubber floor mates.

Sellers description:
1968 Series 1.5 E-type. This car is in magnificent shape and is one of the finest "street" cars available. So, if you don't want to spend $129,900 for a garage queen like the 68 e-type which was recently listed on ebay, this Jag is for you. Over $27k has been spent mechanically since 2000 (which would probably cost $40k in todays $$) and to my knowledge the car is in perfect mechanical shape. The following is a list of mechanical work done in the past 8 years: 1. Engine disassembled and repaired and rebuilt as necessary; 2. New clutch, rebuilt cylinders and new house; 3. New cooling system hoses, belts, clamps and thermostat; 4. New starter; 5. New points, condenser, plugs, cap, rotor, wires; 6. New ball joints, sway bar bushes, shocks and hub seals, new tie rods and front torsion bars; 7. New rear suspension cage assembly, new trailing arm bushes, mounts, shocks and springs; 8. New brakes and hoses; 9. New seatbelts; 10. New hood safety; 11. New battery; 12. New tires. All gauges and electrical equipment work perfectly. All matching original serial numbers. The exhaust system is in perfect condition, mechanically and cosmetically. The interior is in great condition with some very minor wear on the seats. The top is in perfect shape but has a tiny (1/4") crack in the rear plastic which may be visible in the photos. I believe the car was repainted before 2000. The paint is very strong with only a few minor defects. The trunk lid has a 1/4" bit of touch up on the very end and the passenger door has a very minor small bubble at the bottom. Both defects have been there for years and are so minor that I have not touched them. There us also a small 1/4" paint chip underneath the car which can't be seen unless you lay on the ground. All door and hood lines are perfect. I have all service records for the past 8 years as well as ownership records dating back to 1989. I am the third owner since 1989; I'm not sure if there were any owners prior to 1989 or if the seller in 1989 was the original owner. I believe that the car has approximately 70,000 miles as determined from old records although the odometer says 32,000 miles. As is the usual case, I can't represent the exact original miles but can describe what I believe is correct.

Title: 1968 Jaguar xke - Series 1.5 Mint e-type
Mileage: 68,000 miles
Location: Wilton
This is a fantastic example of a 1968 Series 1 1/2 e-type converible. This e-type is in MINT condition mechanically and physically. It is not a "show" car but a beautiful example of a Jag that runs perfectly and can be driven and enjoyed. This car had approximately $25k spent (Kent Bain - Automotive Restorations, Inc.) within the past 5,000 - 10,000 miles and runs like a clock. The car has approximately 68,000 miles (accurate +/- 5,000 miles) and has always been garaged. It is one of 6 cars I own and is only driven on beautiful sunny days. The body is in beautiful condition and all door and hood lines are perfectly straight. The only flaws in the paint are a tiny paint spot on the rear hatch trailing edge and a very minor area on the passenger side lower door area (both are pictured). The interior is in perfect shape with no rips, tears, splits or repairs. The top is in perfect shape. The rear plastic window in the top has a small slit from being stored all the time and is easily and inexpensively replaceable. The engine compartment is clean but has not been detailed. A little detail work there and this Jag could easily show very well in everything except the "q tip" garage queen category for museum pieces that don't go on the road. This car is an absolute head turner. By way of background, I have previously owned one of the finest vintage aircraft restoration shops in the US, with multiple national grand-champion winners to our credit. I have owned Ferrari, AC Cobra, Porsche, Lotus etc and only own high quality cars. You could spend $25k on a cheaper $40k Series 1.5 and not have a car as nice or well running as mine. I have had many people come and see this car and have had lots of offers in the mid-$40's. This car is worth a bit more. With an e-type, you get what you pay for. There are no shortcuts to a well maintained, quality vehicle. Thanks for looking.
