Ebay item 10/4/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-CONV-1968-JAGUAR-E-TYPE-4-2-XKE-CONV-S ...
Current bid $22,000 reserve not met, 1 bid, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
FINE EXAMPLE OF A CLASSIC SPORTS CAR THAT WAS WAY AHEAD OF IT'S TIME ! THE NAVY BLUE PAINT WITH MATCHING LEATHER INTERIOR IS IN VERY VERY GOOD CONDITION AS IS THE CHROME AND THE WIRE WHEELS. THE CAR SHIFTS AND DRIVES PERFECTLY. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD TAKEN EXCELLENT CARE OF THE VEHICLE FOR THE PAST 9 YEARS.

UNDER THE HOOD IS EXTRA CLEAN AS THE VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN MAINTAINED WELL.

THE CHASSIS NUMBER 1E16607 SHOWS THIS TO BE A 1968 AND A HALF MODEL. THE ENGINE IS CORRECT FOR THE CAR ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT A MATCHING NUMBER CAR.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
