Ebay item 8/21/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1968-Jaguar-E-Type-Series-I-5-/282618170018
Current bid $28,200 reserve not met 12 bids 6 days left in auction, seller enigmatic_111, 99k miles.
Sellers description:
I purchased the car in 2013 and brought it to Colorado. It is originally a South Carolina car. The original owner was Dr. I.M. Ibrahim of Clemson university. I believe I am the 4th owner of the car. I rate the car as a nice Driver Level car. I only drive it on fine days otherwise it is always garaged. It looks fantastic, drives well and gets a lot of attention. It is not a trailer queen, that said it presents very well and I regularly show it at the Colorado Conclave. The Head is not original to the car, it was replaced by a previous owner. The car also had a respray of the original primrose yellow, I would rate the paint as 7.5 out of 10. It shines well and is in good condition, however under close inspection, there are some dings and chips from normal use. I have tried to capture the ding in one of the photos, it is difficult to see unless the light is just right. Both Floor pans have been replaced by a Previous Owner. There is a small section of body filler in driver's side sill just behind the battery box. It is not a problem, but something to keep an eye on if the car moves to a damp climate. I have captured it in one of the photos. The interior is in good condition. I believe the seats are the originals. The Armrest was professionally replaced last summer. The Soft Top is in good condition as is the Boot cover. Overall it is a wonderful car. The only reason I'm selling, is because I have too many cars (or so my wife says ?). I don't have enough room, or time to drive and enjoy them all.
The car underwent significant Mechanical work in 2016 including:
· Engine re-build
· Transmission service
· Cooling system Flush
· Brake Service
· New Clutch master cylinder
· New Clutch Slave cylinder
· New Alternator
· New Electric Cooling Fan
· New Plugs
· New Plug Wires
· New Coil
· Carb rebuild & tune
· Choke wires
· New Muffler
The Engine rebuild was professionally done by "Thomas Vintage" in Boulder Colorado. I have receipts for approx. $21,000. The rebuilt engine has approx. 450 miles on it.
