Car returns to ebay 5/19/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-E-TYPE-CONVERTIBLE-/200762926523
Current bid $4,650 reserve not met, 3 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in North Olmsted, Ohio. 73k miles.
Sellers description:
This is your special opportunity to be an owner of a rare series 1 1/2 Jaguar XK E- type.
Series 1 1/2 was only produced about a year and it is considered by many to be the rarest and most collectable XK E.
It is a rare 3 carbs, 1968 convertible, 4.2 manual 4 speed, with a clear Title.
The original color of the car is exquisite metallic green on black. The interior needs some attention, but the original leather is in great shape.
It was found in a back yard where it was sitting for a few years with the roof not completely closed, which caused some water damage.
In order to make it into a show car, it would require a total restoration. Any improvements you would make to this beauty would be a great investment. Having said that, as it is, the car runs and drives in my lot.
Most of the bodywork is in good condition, not showing much rust, the floor pans have a few little holes but the frame is in good condition. The top is in good condition but needs a new rear window. The original engine runs and sounds great. the carbs needs a clean. The alternator and water pump are new. The radiator is new and made from aluminum. All the brakes are new, and the exhaust is new and manufactured from stainless steel. It needs some electrical attention. The milage on the speedomete shows 23K miles but the title indicates 73K, not actual. The tires are old but the car comes with 4 extra original wire wheels in great shape.
The car comes with extra:
4 extra original wire wheels
All rubber gaskets to restore the car
Front and rear lens
New gas pump
Front bumper
New front shocks
Used calipers and disks
And more extra parts.
