I have owned this E since 1976, previous owner was Miss Douglas Truro N.S. I believe the car was sold new @ Halifax British Motors N.S. but I don't think Miss Douglas was the original owner.
When I bought the car is was Opalescent Silver Blue, with a black factory hardtop (since sold) I changed the colour to Olde English White as soon as I bought it.
The car was fully restored, finished in 1986 using a NOS S 1 bonnet ( originally came with open front lights ) since that time it is usually used with 15x7 offset Daytons, it was converted to front 4 pot Wilwood brakes 7 years ago.
Car has been in storage for the last two years, but will be used in 2006
It presently has 63283 miles on the clock.

Not correct. This is a series 1.5 per the JCNA '68 Judges' Guide, page 2, based on the OTS, LHD Build Records. Series 1 ended at 1E15888.

I agree. Your xkedata.com website has also confirmed the same information in the "About the XKE" section under "Models", showing the differences between the 4.2 Series 1 and the Series 1.5. This car is a Series 1 1/2.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
