    Car offered at:
    classicshowcase.com/index.php/inventory/detail/473

    Sellers description:
    Current condition: ORIGINAL-PRESERVED
Performance: 4.2 Liter 6 Cylinder 265hp engine with 3 SU Carburetors
Transmission: 4 speed manual, fully synchronized
    Suspension: Independent Front / Rear
    Color exterior: Carmen Red
    Color interior: Black
    Mileage: 52,123 original miles
    Vin #: 1E15925
    Engine #: 7E14020-9
    Gearbox #: EJ15482
    Other 1: Body Number: 4E7825

This one owner, all original, CA black plate 1967 late Series I XKE shows fabulous patina. It has been stored for many years, is in its original color combination of Carmen red and black and has only 52,123 original miles. After coming out of storage the car was serviced to prepare it for the road. That is all that has been done to this XKE. The car still has its original small California pink slip a Becker Europa TR AM/FM radio, a ladies foot rest, owner's manual, spare keys, jack, original hardtop, and spare tire. It is a great candidate for a comprehensive restoration, but a car is only original once, and would be a very nice survivor original car as is.

    4-Wheel Disc Brakes

    *Largely original and preserved example
    *Fitted with factory-type Hardtop
*Numbers-matching example in the factory livery
*In singular ownership for several decades

Completed on July 11th, 1967, this open two-seater left Jaguar's production facility in Coventry as it appears today. The left-hand drive car was destined for the US market, and equipped as a series 1 ½ example, with the later headlights, yet retaining many of the early series one production features. A black plate California car, this E-Type benefitted from several decades with just one owner, who took great care to preserve this beautiful Jaguar.

After covering just over 50,000 miles, this Roadster was stored for years, away from environmental harm in a garage in Southern California. It was recently rediscovered and is very complete, still accompanied by its original Becker Europa radio, owner's manual, spare keys, jack, spare wheel, original hardtop, boot cover and a ladies foot rest. Sporting much of the original Carmen Red over black color combination it had when it left the factory 51 years ago, the Jaguar is remarkably original throughout. The body appears quite straight and well detailed, save some inevitable wear from such an original car. The original black leather interior shows a lovely patina and remains intact and inviting.

After its rediscovery, this E-Type was tended to mechanically to make it roadworthy after years in stasis and is in good working order. The 4.2-liter XK engine and fully synchronized 4-speed transmission perform dutifully and are original to the car. This particular E-Type Roadster offers great originality, completeness, and the added excitement of being one of the last Series 1 E-Types built. Included in the sale are the aforementioned original accessories and paperwork along with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate.

Please note, this vehicle is titled under Chassis No. J671E15925.

Note: the above car is NOT a series 1.5 car, those did not appear until later in the year and were sold as '68 model year cars by Federal mandate. This car (verified by factory records) is 100% series 1 except for open headlights which occurred in January of '67.

Lot 5 at BVA Auctions sale of Classic Cars at Zutendaal on 25th June 2019. Sold for 110,000 euros. Amended catalogue description below.
    www.bva-auctions.com/nl/auction/list/40838

Offered here is one of the most original, untouched examples of an S1 E Type roadster. 52,147 miles. This car has had only one single owner. It has all the original hose clips, clamps and many little untouched features. It would be worth writing an originality restoration book based on this car; it really is that impressive.

    2020-01-08 14:35:14 | Michael writes:

The car is not a Series 1.5 but a truly Series 1.
From January 1967 all Series 1 cars delivered
to the USA or Canada had open headlights.
First Series 1.5 car is number 15980.

    2020-01-09 04:38:47 | Michael writes:

The car was not sold in this auction and also not in a later one because it did not reach the estimate. It has been sold in late December 2019 to a customer

in Cologne, Germany, who now enjoyes posessing and driving the car.
