Sold by Wheels by Lex of Waalwijk in June 2021. Amended seller's description below.

    www.wheelsbylex.nl/en/verkocht/

Series 1 4.2 litre roadster finished in Opalescent Silver Grey with Blue leather interior and a Black leather soft top. This E Type was built on 5th April 1967 and shipped to Copenhagen on 21st April 1967. It was delivered by the Jaguar importer Sommer to two men from the Thule Air Base in Greenland.

This E Type was fully restored in the Netherlands from 2016 to 2018 and everything was done to bring it into concours condition. It has been fitted with an alloy radiator with 2 cooling fans, stainless steel manifold and exhaust system, MotoLita wooden sports steering wheel and a new mohair hood and cover. Since restoration this E Type has only covered 800 kilometres.

Recently the car has been checked over by Jaguar specialists Real Car Restoration who have fitted a long ratio differential for lower revs touring. The car comes with a history folder detailing a full photgraphic record of the restoration, invoices for works undertaken. photos, Heritage Certificate and appraisal report.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
