    Ebay item 7/5/10
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-67-E-TYPE-ROADSTER-SERIES-1-5-/32055752196 ...
Opening bid $30,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. Complete VIN on this car is J671E14917.

    Sellers description:
The Car: Two owners from new. This number matching E-Type is a totally rust free southern California car all its life. Repainted once by the original owner before I purchased it 16 years ago. It is rarely driven but serviced and maintained regularly by a local Jaguar specialist. It is a well preserved driver and is in very nice condition. I have driven it 6M miles and the 70M miles engine fires instantly and runs strong and smooth and is totally smoke free.

The Drive Trans: The 3 SU carburetors 4.2 litre engine is strong, torquey and smooth. The drive trans is tight with a new clutch. Unlike the earlier Moss box cars, the all synchronized gearbox is butter smooth and is a dream to shift.

The Body and Chassis: This E-type is totally accident free and track straight and true. It exhibits a bit of very correctable classic over steer at the limit. It has adjustable Koni shocks on all 4 corners. The power brake system has been rebuilt, even the brake fluid level warning floater has been replaced, the front discs and the rear inboard discs work properly. The old generator has been replaced by a new alternator. The electric engine fan switch and thermostat are replaced to ensure this cat never overheats even living in the warm Southern California climate. The exhaust pipe has been replaced with the original chrome tip exhaust. This car is shod in Dunlop chrome wire wheels and near new Dunlop 60 series tyres. The once repainted bodywork is still shiny and wave free with a few minor flaws (see below in the ugly).

The Interior: The navy blue canvas top is in great condition and has never been rained on. The back window vinyl is crystal clear. The top frame was restored when the top was replaced 7 years ago. The dash board is totally crack free, the black leather seat is still supple with a good patina, although the foam is a bit too soft for proper support. The center console is in good condition with a slight fade in color. The lap belts are the original Jaguar military green belts. The door panels and the foot well panels are straight and in great condition. The black carpet which I suspect was replaced by the original owner is in great condition. A Nardi steering wheel was installed but I have the original Jaguar drilled steering wheel.

The Good: A very original mid series E-type with the best engine and gearbox. A very well maintained and preserved car which makes it a perfect candidate to use as a driver or lower cost full restoration.

The Bad: Two front lower A-arm bushing is cracked and should be replaced. A plastic windshield washer bottle is missing. The original tan top cover is old and ugly.

The ugly: There are a dozen of hairline check marks near the front headlamp area where the paint was crack underneath the top layer of paint. The painter laid on too much paint while re-spraying the car. I will definitely repaint the bonnet if I was to keep the car.

Reason for Selling: I consider this car is one of the most beautiful car ever designed. I really hate to sell it but I have too many cars and they are taking over my life. I have set a very reasonably reserve price and hope that the new owner could experience the pleasure of owning a classic E-type roadster as I have.

    Car returns to ebay 8/3/10
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-/250676682503
Current bid C $30,000 Approximately US $29,354.22, reserve not met, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. As mentioned above car is now said to be in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. 112kilos.

    Sellers description:
Enthusiast Cars Inc. is very proud to offer this incredible 1967 Jaguar E-type Roadster. 3 Known owners over 43 years! Last owner had car for 16 of those years and maintained car meticulously with his own private mechanic that supported his vast collection. This car has covered a documented mileage of just over 70000 miles. The car is largely, very original with the exception of a repaint in the original red color that took place over 16 years ago. The Navy top is in virtually perfect condition with the rear plastic in as new order.

The interior is exceptional with a crack free dash, and leather seats in outstanding condition while the carpet and console show a very nice level of patina. The engine bay is very nice and tidy and in original condition. The car has new exhaust and tires and an alternator vs a generator.

The car runs absolutely perfectly and starts instantly and hits idle very well. The 4 speed Syncro gear box shifts seamlessly and firmly. All of the toggle switches work! The car holds temperature and oil pressure like a new car.

The original owners manual and warranty are present as is the spare tire. The original Military Green lap belts are in excellent condition.

There are a few external flaws on the car like paint cracking from age but nothing of concern for the driver. A very worth while fix to take this car to award winning original.
