Beautiful car. I am looking for an opalescent blue series 1 OTS. If you know of a similar car, or would consider letting your car go, please contact me. Thanks, Bruce

Definitly a pristine car. Yours is much motivation to get some thing done to mine. I've been thinking about a color change, but seeing your OSB It makes it too hard a decision to change.
Nice car!

Hi Robert,

Yes, but that colour is nowhere near "Tan" more something like "Biscuit".

Jaguar's Tan is a very saturated brown, also sometimes called "Pigskin" as it was earlier available with Pigskin grain. In bright light people mistake it even for orange. Very rare now, originally only available on Black and Dark green cars and some variations like "Light Tan" with Golden Sand paint, but the interior is still not "light" but very, very brown.

Cheers!

According to its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, this Series 1 E-Type was completed at the Browns Lane Jaguar works on January 4th, 1967. As one of the final Series 1 production cars built, this car featured the fully synchronized transmission and the 4.2-liter XK engine. The car was built with left hand drive and was painted in the beautiful light metallic color of Opalescent Silver Blue, set off by dark blue Connolly hides and a blue soft top. The new E-Type was dispatched from the factory on January 25, 1967, destined for the California sunshine and its first owner, a Mr. Robert Hensien of Sunnyvale, California.

The E-Type is believed to have remained in Hensien's ownership for decades, until relocating to the East Coast, where it joined the collection of Richard Reedy in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Reedy would use the car during the summer months, and supposedly had it shipped to the UK for several rallies in the 1990s. The car was purchased by Columbia, South Carolina accountant Denis Dabney in the late 1990's. Mr. Dabney, a long-time Jaguar enthusiast and JCNA member, showed the car at JCNA events, at one time scoring an impressive 995.9 points of 1000. The car re-located to California in the mid-2000s, where a thorough restoration was performed between 2005 and 2007. Photos from this period show the car completely disassembled for repaint in the original color, while the mechanical components were carefully refurbished. The car was purchased by Greg Johnson of Santa Ana in late 2007, remaining in his ownership until purchased by the consignor in 2011. The car has been serviced and maintained during his ownership, and most importantly, driven and exercised on a regular basis.

This beautiful E-Type is offered with an impressive history file, containing receipts, restoration photos and the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate documenting that the car appears just as it did when new, and retains its matching numbers engine. Complete with books, tools and a jack, here is a great example of the popular Jaguar E-Type.
Estimate: US$ 110,000 - 130,000
