This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was acquired by the current owner in 1985, and work since 2020 has included a repaint, reupholstered seats, a cooling system service, and replacement of parts of the wiring harness as well as the battery and ignition coil. It is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in Opalescent Silver Gray over black leather, the car is equipped with a black soft top, enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, and a heater. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with service records, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, and a clean California title in the current owner’s name.

The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example is finished in Opalescent Silver Gray and was repainted in 2020, at which time a replacement black soft top was installed, the antenna hole was welded, and chrome work was performed on the bumpers. Additional equipment includes enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and were mounted with 185HR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires in 2019. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The brake master cylinder, brake servo, and shocks were replaced in 2019.

The cabin features bucket seats that were reupholstered in black leather in 2020, along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, and a heater. Interior trim was refurbished in 2024.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and shows 21k miles. Approximately 50k miles were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The spark plugs, water pump, expansion tank, and distributor cap and rotor were replaced in 2019. A replacement battery, ignition coil, and sections of the wiring harness were installed in 2020. The thermostat gasket was replaced in 2022, while work in 2024 is said to have included replacing the cylinder head gasket and adjusting the valves.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate lists the factory colors and serial numbers along with a build date of December 14, 1966.

Chassis number 1E14304 is shown on the plate and the sequence is used as the VIN on the title prepended by “J67.”
