Car was at auction 2/12
www.motorbase.com/auctionlot/by-id/29026664/

Auction description:
As an accompanying Jaguar heritage sheet confirms, this particular UK market car was supplied new by the Kochey dealership in September 1965 and has always been red with a black interior. The current vendor has owned the car for the last 12 years and it has only had three former keepers according to the V5C.

Always well maintained in the current ownership, the car comes with a large history file going back some 30 years including virtually all old MOT certificates to back to 1982 at which point it had covered some 51,300 miles, a total which has now risen to some 70,200 miles. Bills on file show that the crank was reground in 1985 at about 54,000 miles and the gearbox was rebuilt in 1999 at 67,000 miles. A new steering rack was fitted in 2002 and a stainless steel exhaust in 2005. A brand new bonnet was also recently fitted after the original was damaged when the driver's shoelace became entangled with the pedals leading to a brush with a hedgerow!

The car is said to run and drive well and last year attended the E-Type 50th Anniversary parade at the Silverstone Classic meeting. Taxed until the end of July and MOTd until August, it is ready to be driven away today and is only reluctantly being sold due to the advancing years of the owner.
