California black plate special. This unrestored 1967 Jaguar E-Type Roadster has a rich history and provenance with single family ownership since new.
I was three years old when my dad purchased this amazing car from Walker Dodge in Canoga Park California and drove it home. I was so enthralled that our family now had a Jaguar Race Car, or so it was in my eyes.
The stories of growing up with this car are personal life landmarks that are gems filled with emotion, sculpting experiences that are the essence of life worth living. It was a supreme thrill as a child to go driving in my dad's E-Ticket Ride.
The specifications of this car are all the usual suspects: engine, body, trans all authenticated matching numbers. All original body panels etc.
This is a solid car with a straight body and strong engine.
A rare factory hardtop is included with an excellent condition headliner. My dad loved telling the story of the circumstances of what he had to do to get this hardtop.
So what's up with the bonnet being a different color than the body you ask? I contracted with a firm (B&A Restorations) to paint the car back to its original color, opalescent silver grey. After seeing the poor quality of workmanship on the bonnet I halted the repaint process.
Documentation includes the very rare original warranty card. California black plate and registration certificates, Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. Repair and parts receipts during my ownership. As well as the standard new buyers folder packet of info and sales brochures.
It is challenging to bring myself to pass on this important part of my life and identity. I am looking for someone who will appreciate all the nuances that go with ownership of this iconic wonder.
Price: $100,000

This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was completed on October 19, 1966, and is said to have been sold new in California. It was purchased by the current owner in 2019, and a subsequent multi-year refurbishment was performed by Classic European Restorations of Vista, California, and completed in 2022. The car is finished in blue over light gray leather upholstery, and power comes from a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. Features include a dark blue soft top, a color-matched hardtop, glass headlight covers, 15″ wire wheels, and four-wheel disc brakes, while modifications consist of a coolant overflow tank sourced from a 1968 XKE and a modern Becker stereo with a retro-style faceplate. This XKE is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with tools, factory literature, a reproduction factory-style trunk suitcase, a Jaguar Production Record Trace Certificate, service and refurbishment records, a California black plate, a car show award, a car cover, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
Delivered from the factory in Opalescent Silver Grey, the car was repainted blue during the refurbishment. Features include split front and rear bumpers, glass headlight covers, hood louvers, and twin exhaust outlets. A color-matched hardtop is included in the sale, and a dark blue soft top.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels feature two-eared knock-off hubs and are mounted with 185-width Dunlop SP Sport Radial tires. The XKE rides on a four-wheel independent suspension with torsion bars up front and coil springs at the rear. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard rear units.
The cabin features seats trimmed in light gray leather along with matching door panels and color-matched carpets. Equipment includes a center console with an armrest, a sliding rear-view mirror, Jaguar-branded black floor mats, and lap belts. A modern Becker stereo with a retro-style faceplate was installed during the refurbishment.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. Gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows less than 58k miles, approximately 40 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter twin-cam inline-six is equipped with triple SU side-draft carburetors and was factory-rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. A coolant overflow tank sourced from a 1968 XKE was installed during the refurbishment.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of October 19, 1966, along with factory colors and serial numbers.
A second-place award from the 2022 San Marino Motor Classic is included along with, tools, factory literature, a reproduction factory-style trunk suitcase, and a car cover.
The California title lists the VIN as J671E13742, while the car number listed on the chassis plate reads 1E13742.
