Car has a perfect restoration- as near showroom as possible- all mechanical original parts were used - and only new panels used were body units from Jaguar- Floor, upholstery etc- runs like a dream and looks fantastic

Interestingly this car was sold by RM Auctions on Amelia Island March 14th 2010 for $71.500 USD

listed as a 5.3L 1967 Series 3 OTS, which can not be right, Series 1 or 1.5 4.2L OTS should be right according to the vin# and the photos.

Huge, where was the restoration done? I have a 1962 3.8 Series 1 OTS in Toronto, Ontario. I have been doing most of the work myself to keep it running, but I'm starting to have some serious overheating issues and can't find the problem. I'm going to have to find some expertise.

Car was at auction in '10

    Auction description:
    Automobiles of Amelia Island
    13 March 2010
    Lot 209
    1967 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster
To be auctioned on Saturday, March 13, 2010
    Sold for $71,500
    Chassis no. 1E13731

With just two owners from new, this particular 1967 Jaguar E-Type Roadster benefits from a complete, ground-up restoration completed in July 2009 by a long-time Jaguar owner and enthusiast. During the restoration process, the body was carefully repaired and refinished in its original Dark Iridescent Green, complemented by a new convertible top and a leather-trimmed interior in the original Hunter Green, as well as a new set of wire wheels and tires. Underneath the long, tilting bonnet, the completely rebuilt 4.2-liter XK engine is highly detailed and period correct in its presentation.

Beautifully restored, detailed and presented, all systems of this iconic E-Type are described as being excellent. A fine example of perhaps the most famous and recognizable sports car ever produced, this is a must-have addition to any comprehensive collection of iconic automobiles.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
