Current bid $22,600 reserve not met, 2 bids 9 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
The car being offered is a MATCHING NUMBERS 1967 SR I E-Type Roadster (VIN # 1E13230) with 59,000 miles on the odometer. It has been owned and pampered by the current owner for the past 30 years. A restoration was started 15+ years ago at a premiere restoration facility in Minnesota. The entire body and bonnet was dipped to chemically remove all paint and primer. This process exposed all areas of the sheet metal, including those areas that required attention. Any areas that were questionable were either repaired or replaced to make the body as good, if not better than new. A professional paint job of JAGUAR CARMEN RED completed the body/paint work. The body and paint restoration included the engine bay, firewall, bonnet underside, and the entire underside of the car.

When the car was reassembled the final restoration included many NEW components including, but not limited to, complete interior, leather seats, convertible top, trunk kit, numerous electrical harnesses, brake system, suspension, rubber, windshield, tires, exhaust system, and miscellious electrical and mechanical components within the engine compartment (i.e. starter, complete hose and belt kit, radiator, etc.). Items that were not replaced new were rebuilt where necessary such as the Triple SU carburetors, the rear end, the rear trailing arms, the steering wheel, the fuel tank, and many other miscellaneous components throughout the car. All components and work done was per original Jaguar specifications except for a few modifications that were done to enhance the cars performance (updated sound system and upgraded cooling fan mounted to the front of the radiator). This car was not undercoated after the restoration, thus, the sheet metal work that was done, including its current excellent condition, is evident on the underside and in the wheel wells.

This car spent most of its life in Minnesota and since the restoration it’s only been driven about 2000 miles as a pleasure vehicle in the summer time, thus the car is very clean and rust free. Just recently the car has undergone a complete tune-up including the ignition system, carburetor adjustment, and engine checkout. The compression test yielded an excellent 160 psi for each cylinder.

Since restoration, the car acquired a half a dozen minor nicks and scratches. The most serious paint issue is on the outside of the corners of the bonnet (both sides). This was caused due to the improper adjustment of the rear bonnet hold-down latches which allowed the bonnet to make contact with the horizontal ledge near the firewall. The resulting vibration caused by the bonnet not being securely locked in place caused the paint to chip in both corners. These areas are the size of a silver dollar. These latches have since been corrected. Two small holes are also evident near the drivers side covered headlight (1/4” diameter); caused by improper installation.

Overall, this SR I Roadster is an EXCELLENT driver / show car. It starts, accelerates, stops, and runs like you would expect it to.

This E-type was sold to its 3rd owner in 2009 and has been kept in excellent condition throughout. Fitted with air conditioning, this Jag is comfortable, yet dialed in for around-town cruising. One of the most iconic sports cars of all time, this numbers matching E-type Roadster represents the very best in build quality and craftsmanship throughout. A recent road test attests to the car performing flawlessly in every way, and it is indeed ready for immediate use and enjoyment. Included with the sale are owner’s manual, a period Jaguar routine maintenance poster, a Jaguar E-Type Service Manual and Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.

The exterior was finished in the period-correct Carmen Red color, while the interior was trimmed in black. A factory optional hard top was fitted as well, painted black to neatly contrast the red exterior. The work was done per original Jaguar specifications, however a few upgrades were carried out, including a stereo system with a new radio and speakers, as well as an upgraded cooling fan. This E-Type has had very limited mileage since the restoration as it was only driven as a pleasure vehicle in the summer, but always well cared for and maintained regardless of use.

This E-type was sold to its 3rd owner in 2009 and has been kept in lovely condition throughout. Fitted with air conditioning, this Jag is comfortable and dialed in for around-town cruising. One of the most iconic sports cars of all time, this E-type Roadster retains its original engine. Included with the sale of the car is an owner's manual, a period Jaguar routine maintenance poster, a Jaguar E-Type service manual and the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, as well as the desirable and rare, optional factory hard top.
