Sold by The Classic Motor Hub of Bibury in April 2021. Seller's description below.

www.classicmotorhub.com/showroom/1965-jaguar-e-type-series-1-4-2-roadster/

This stunning restored E Type Series 1 4.2 Roadster was originally supplied by Henlys Limited London in May 1965 and handed over by Chichester Automobiles to the first owner, Mr Salm from Petworth. In 2014 this car was completely stripped and over 3 years rebuit to original concours condition by XK Engineering. Refinished in its original colour scheme of Opalescent Silver Blue with Dark Blue hide and matching Dark Blue mohair soft top.

Unlike many classic restorations this car has been rebuilt exactly how it it would have left the factory making it ideal for concours competition or show events. Supplied with a Jaguar Heritage certificate and indoor car cover plus CD's with about 900 photos of the restoration. This Series 1 offers a rare opportunity to buy an as new E Type that can be used and driven as originally intended.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
