Ebay item 6/1/14
coolcatz.com, in Youngstown, OH, no expense was spared. The body (number 1E12096) was stripped to the bare metal, mounted on a rotisserie, and properly metal-finished with lead to ensure smooth, straight panels. All body parts and chrome were then test-fitted to the body, to ensure a proper fit, before the body was correctly painted and refinished in an elegant RED, with an amazingly deep shine and finish. The brightwork chrome was all triple-plated to the highest of concours standards, for an amazing shine and depth. Restored chrome wire wheels and new tires compliment the rest of the car. The perfection continues to the underside. EVERY NUT AND BOLT HAS BEEN attended to, including plating, correctly finished floors, new suspension, brakes, bushings, etc.
The BLACK LEATHER interior was fitted with all new, custom-tailored materials, including new leather seats, carpet, door panels, and dashboard covering. The top bows were fully restored before being fitted with a new black convertible top that was custom-sewn and fitted as per original specifications. All dashboard instruments, switchgear, and knobs were properly restored. The trunk has been restored to as new condition as well, the rear wood floors were cut from marine plywood, and finished to the level of furniture.
The ORIGINAL, MATCHING NUMBERS 4.2 LITER ENGINE (number 7E11598-9) was rebuilt to factory specifications with new pistons, oil pump, timing chain, bearings, valves, guides, seals etc. The head and carburetors were fully rebuilt, and the driveshaft was properly balanced. As with all aspects of this restoration, New Old Stock parts were used whenever possible. The only deviation from stock is the 5-speed Tremac transmission developed by XK's Unlimited for this particular car. It increases drivability on our modern roads.
Few E-Types can claim this level of restoration. "Ole Red" is not just another E-Type; she is a world-class Jaguar with attention to detail that is as striking as its very shape. She is well sorted and drives as well as she looks. This is the finest of collector grade cars. If you are seduced by price, this is not the car for you, if you want the finest look no further.
