This 1966 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was produced on November 3, 1965 and dispatched to the US the following November 18th. The car underwent a body-off restoration in the mid 2000s, which included a repaint in red, a reupholstered black leather interior, a replacement black soft top, an engine rebuild, and more. Power is supplied by a replacement 4.2-liter inline-six equipped with triple SU carburetors and paired with a T-5 five-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes GAZ adjustable shock absorbers, a stainless-steel sport exhaust with resonators, and Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes. It was acquired five years ago by noted Jaguar collector and television host Joseph Limongelli, who featured the car in his book and on his television show. This Series I XKE is now being offered on consignment by the selling dealer with photos and receipts from the restoration, spare parts, a knock-off hammer, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and New York registration.

Delivered from the factory in Opalescent Dark Green, the exterior was taken to bare-metal and received a two-stage repaint in red during the aforementioned restoration. A replacement black soft top was installed at that time, and additional features include chrome bumpers with overriders, glass headlight covers, and central exhaust outlets.

The replacement 15” MWS tubeless wire wheels feature knock-off hubs and are wrapped in period-style Pirelli Cinturato tires. A matching spare is found in the trunk, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes with inboard-mounted rears and stainless-steel lines. The car rides on GAZ adjustable shocks with polyurethane bushings.

The cabin has been reupholstered in black leather sourced from BAS and features a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Toggle switches for vehicle functions are found below the auxiliary gauges in the dash, along with an aftermarket Kenwood CD stereo.

A wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel fronts a suite of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows just over 7k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 4.2-liter twin-cam inline-six was rebuilt during the restoration and features triple SU carburetors. An ethanol-resistant fuel tank has been added, along with an electronic 123ignition system, and additional equipment includes a high-torque starter, an electronic SU fuel pump and upgraded fuel lines, an aluminum radiator, electric fan, a GM one-wire alternator, and a stainless-steel sport exhaust with resonators.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual T-5 transmission that has been outfitted with a replacement clutch and lightened flywheel. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows a manufacture date of November 3, 1965 and lists factory colors and identification numbers.
