Ebay item 7/26/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $17,600.00 (Reserve not met), 15 bids, 5 days left in auction. 22k miles.

Sellers description:
Used,3 or more previous owners, wife was given vehicle by her deceased brother. Looks good, ran good but has not been started in 5 years, garage kept.

Vehicle Condition
Car has records indicating was wrecked and restored, my brother in law bought it and was continuing the restoration and was killed. My wife owns the car, we had the exterior fully restored, and the interior. The motor was not restored by us but it did run good. The spoke wheels and bumpers are a little rusty. The tire appear good but are very old and could be dry rotted. Car has been garage kept 15 years or so since we have owned it. New stainless exhaust and brake lines as well as new wheel cylinders were installed. There are two very slight dents caused by someone dropping something or bumping it in the garage. Have a book that has old title of one previous owner and an old Jaguar sales brocure.

Vehicle Description

This XKE is in very good condition. My wife has owned since 1998. We had the interior redone, exterior painted, new exhaust system (stainless steel), new brake lines and brake wheel cylinders redone. Car has only been drive approximately 50 miles since 1998. Had not been started in several years. Recently drained all old fuel and started and drove the car. Runs well to have set so long. VIN plate has been removed so I had jagsearch.com do history search. Have all of the original data on car. Car is presently same body color but trim and top were black and they are now brown except dash which is original. I have confirmed all numbers match with the exception of the gearbox, which I think will match, but I don't know where to look for this number. I have copies of several previous owner's titles, original operating/maintenance/service handbook, documentation and pictures of some of the restoration process. I can email more pics if needed. I have been told this is a rare jaguar. This car originally went to Jaguar Cars New York (dealers) on 1st September 1965.

Vehicle Condition

Very good condition, tire have good tread but are very old, undercarriage good shape also painted and undercoated. Left rear tail light lens need replace. I may have the new one. Spoke wheels have little rust.

Car was at auction 12/11/07 not sold
www.barons-auctions.com/details.php
Auction was at Sandown Park, Esher, Surrey, UK

Auction description:
This stunning example of the classic S1 E-Type roadster is part of a deceased estate and is said to have covered just 22000 miles from new, with evidence in support. This evidence is made up of American title documents dating back over 20 years, which show just 21,000 recorded miles. The car has seen little use in the intervening period, partly by choice and partly due to being tied up in probate due to the untimely demise of the owner.

The car left Browns Lane on the 1st September 1965 destined for Jaguar Cars, New York. The car was first registered to George P. Daniel II of Charleston in 1965, changed hands a couple of times and then remained with the same owner from 1985 to 2005.

Finished in the highly desirable Primrose with tan interior, the car has been restored in its time with a bare metal repaint and a full re-trim (originally black). The panel fit is excellent and the car drives very well. The only non-standard item we can find is brake cooling ducts let into the front apron, which have been professionally fitted.

Though supplied without an MoT, the car has been subjected to the MoT test and a VT30 refusal obtained, this shows that minimal work is required to obtain a pass.

The right car, in the right colour and in excellent order. An opportunity too good to miss.
