On July 13, 1965, this lovely 4.2 E-Type Roadster was first delivered to Lucille McNamara of Milton, Massachusetts, through the Boston dealership Foreign Motors Inc. When new, as is the case today, the car was finished in the rare color scheme of Opalescent Golden Sand with a dark-tan interior, a stunning combination that perfectly complements the iconic mid-century design.

Years later, Willem “Wolf” Toepel of Carlisle, Massachusetts, the publisher of EJAG: The Jaguar Magazine, received a call from Ms. McNamara. Although she had called to place an advertisement for her Jaguar, Mr. Toepel was so taken with the car that he wanted to see it for himself. The car was conveniently located in Massachusetts and, by fall 1983, Mr. Toepel, the consummate Jaguar enthusiast, had become the proud owner of this remarkable E-Type. Over a span of 18 years, the Roadster had covered a scant 24,263 miles and its protective first owner had ensured that the car remained in lovely condition throughout.

Today, this Jaguar has yet to reach 40,000 miles from new. It remains in outstanding, un-spoiled condition and appears to be a carefully maintained, highly original car. With the exception of a repaint of its original color, it is unrestored and very presentable throughout. Many of these cars have been comprehensively restored and it is therefore a rare treat to come across a car that has been so well preserved over the past 45 years.

The bodywork of this beautiful automobile is in exceptional condition, with precise gaps and airtight panel fit rarely found on restored E-Types. In addition, the factory body tag found on the rear has never been removed and remains clearly visible, evidence that the car has never suffered an accident or unsympathetic restoration work.
