Sold by 2BC Automotive Consulting of Macclesfield in Summer 2018. Amended seller's description below.
www.2bc-automotive.com/jag-e-lhd-01.html

The car we offer, chassis number 1E1017 (the seventeenth RHD Series 1 roadster delivered) was completed on 2nd November 1964 and delivered new via Jaguar distributor Henlys Limited London on 3rd December 1964. Specified in right hand drive with a dark blue exterior, matching leather interior, blue hood and wire wheels. Matching engine number 7E1747-9, body number 4E1357, gearbox number EJ797, build date 2nd November 1964, first registered 15th December 1964. Registration number at time of delivery LHD791. All the above information is validated by Jaguar Heritage certificate number 6154 issued on 14th June 1994. Purchased by the current owner 29th November 1979 in Elland, West Yorkshire.

Restored by noted marque specialists from 2nd July 2014 to 19th August 2017. Project managed, restored and completed by A J Autokraft with interior trim and hood by G B Coachtrimming and body restoration by Body Beautiful. Restoration specification includes: genuine ONS bonnet, boot lid and doors; extra stiffener to inside sills; new engine, picture and bonnet frames; upgraded hi-torque starter motor; fitted Harmonic crankshaft dampner, stainless steel branch manifold and exhaust; five speed gearbox(original included in sale); Koni dampners on polybush mounts; uprated radiator with electric fan; uprated brakes vented at front; 15Jx6 wire wheels with 205/70/15VR tyres, upgraded seating and door card leather trim; 1960's style refurbished Radiomobile with modern HP3 player; fitted door mirrors.

History file includes vehicle restoration DVD with about 230 images, a clear HPI check report dated 28th August 2017 prepared by vehicle car appraiser 'Lemon Road'; a comprehensive report prepared by the above following a detailed inspection of the car on 26th August 2017. There is also a complete tool roll; hood bag; spare parts catalogue for 4.2 litre E Type; book, Jaguar E Type - the definitive history by Philip Porter; Operating, Maintenance and Service handbook (reprint); Radiomobile MP3 player operators guide; Periodic maintenance vouchers(reprint); maintenance chart (reprint); tailored embroidered car cover by Classic Additions; a copy of Jaguar World dated August 2012; an original roadster Autocar road test report dated 12th October 1967; original sales brochure for 4.2 litre E Type.

A nut and bolt restoration completed by marque specialists from 2014 to 2017 at a cost exceeding £150,000 with only 115 miles since. In single ownership for the last thirty nine years. It retains its original registration and all key components. Exceptional value that cannot be replicated for the sale price mindful of the chassis, parts supply chain, restorer of choice and their availability, road fund licence and UK MoT exempt.

'The Jaguar has had a very expensive and detailed restoration, bringing the car back to almost concours condition and certainly better than new. The additional upgrades have improved the 1964 specification, but not altered the presentation. Taking into account the overall condition of the Jaguar, quality of restoration, the upgrades and the original number plate, I would place a value at the time of this report at £240,000. Darren Gilling 28th July 2017.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
