Car now offered at:

Seller's description:

1973 Jaguar Type E V12 2+2 MATCHING NUMBERS.

Series 3, 5.3 L engine, 4 carburetors.

History:

This Jaguar was built in July 1973 and exported to the USA, where it was sold to Dr Lawrence Cohen, who kept it as the sole owner for almost 50 years.

It was imported to the UK in 2022 and has only been driven around 100 miles since.

It arrived in Germany at the end of 2022, where it cleared customs and the taxes were paid to import it into Europe.

Mechanics:

This Jaguar starts very well and drives smoothly thanks to its well-maintained mechanics.

Checks and preparatory work were carried out over the last three months, including replacing the cylinder head cover gaskets, thermostats, various relays, steering gaskets, front suspension, and tank mounting screws.

The speedometers and revolution counters are in working order.

The vehicle has 14,800 miles on the odometer (less than 25,000 km).

Bodywork - Chassis:

The chassis/bodywork are not rusty; they are in very good condition, very well preserved.

The visible impacts on the bodywork are within the normal limits for a 50-year-old vehicle.

The bodywork was repainted in the last few years.

Interior:

The interior is original and unaltered: the leather, upholstery and headliner are original. They have been cleaned and are in very good condition. Only a small tear is visible on the top of the back seat backrest (see photo). The other seats do not show any damage.

Various:

This Jaguar has a "Heritage" certificate and matching numbers in terms of the chassis number, engine, gearbox, colour and interior equipment.

This is a rare combination, especially in a vehicle with so few miles on the clock.

The vehicle can be seen in Kehl, Germany.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
