Lot 182 at Anglia Car Auctions of Kings Lynn sale of Classic Cars on 26th January 2019. Sold for £13,356 including premium. Catalogue description below.

Purchased by the Danish vendor from the United States in 1990. Appears quite solid. Has received minor damage to the nose of the car. The interior is incorrectly retrimmed in vinyl. Engine turns, but no attempt has been made to start. The Heritage Certificate confirms that this car was produced for the North American market and dispatched to British Leyland New York in June 1970. It comes with a Montana title deed and a copy of the import documentation dated 1990.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
