This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 is believed to have undergone a repaint in black as well as an engine rebuild as part of a refurbishment project initiated under previous ownership that later stalled. Chassis 1R41117 was subsequently acquired by the seller in 2025 and completed with work involving an interior refresh, installation of a replacement steering rack, overhauls of the dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and more as detailed below. The car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six backed by a four-speed manual transmission linked with a limited-slip differential. It rides on 15″ steel wheels coupled with disc brakes and is further equipped with black leather–trimmed seats, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Bluetooth-capable stereo. This XKE 2+2 is now offered with recent service records and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.

The car is said to have been stripped and repainted black circa 2018 under previous ownership. Paint touchup and refinishing work were later completed by the seller in 2025. Additional work under current ownership has involved rewiring the sealed-beam open headlights as well as replacing the windshield and various exterior trim pieces.

The 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 205/70 Yokohama Avid Ascend LX tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. Work in 2025 is said to have involved replacing the steering rack and column as well as the brake master cylinder.

The 2+2 cabin features seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. The the dash, seats, and carpets were replaced and a Bluetooth-capable digital media receiver was added in 2026. Further interior appointments include a heater, a locking glovebox, and hand-crank windows.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 66k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The block was bored and honed and the pistons, rings, and bearings were replaced along with the timing chain, valves, guides, and springs as part of a rebuild completed by Coventry Motors of Phoenix, Arizona, in March 2018. The seller tells us that work in 2025 and 2026 involved overhauling the carburetors, adding a stainless-steel exhaust system, flushing the fuel tank, performing fluid changes, and replacing the spark plugs as well as the ignition wires.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A replacement clutch assembly is said to have been installed in 2018.
