    Ebay item 3/6/16
    www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-2-door-FHC-fixed-head-coupe-/301890165117
Current bid US $37,600 reserve not met 11 bids 6 days left in auction. Seller volvomanmike, 62k miles.

    Sellers description:
This 1968 Jaguar XK E-type FHC is not restored! The vehicle has been well maintained to the highest of current owners standards since purchasing in Dec 1998 with 32,000 miles on odometer. At that time, I was looking for my 3rd E type, as the other 2 cars were needing repair before making a daily driver, this time I wanted a ALL ORIGINAL E type. The E type was advertised in Hemmings Motor News. As the 2nd owner told me, he had purchased the E type 5 years ago from an Estate sale where the 1st owner had passed away and his kid was selling off the collection, the sale was held in a heated garage, the 2nd owner also kept the E type in a heated garage as both lived in Michigan. This E type had/has never seen the salt of any winter as there is no rust.. Also I still have most of the 1968 parts that have been replaced since purchasing, new owner is welcome to take if they so want. Original owners pouch n paperwork, etc are in car yet.

AS of today Mar. 5th, 2016, the E type is 95+% original in owners opinion, a fast, well handling, highly maintained and good looking E-type! When I went to check over this E-type, the dash clock was inop, windscreen was pitted, clear coat was starting to let go, rear hatch glass was chipped, dash pad was cracked in the center, engine oil was black as night and there were coolant leaks from various engine components but ALL ORIGINAL. I bought it and drove it back to San Diego in Jan. of 1999, it took 3 days n had no problems except to find out the 4.2L engine was wearing out.

(btw) when purchasing parts...1st choice was OEM part or OEM aftermarket part, 2nd choice was updated or superceded OEM part and 3rd was aftermarket or fitable part from different make n model of vehicle which only happened when fitting in the updated A/C system and the center armrest with cupholder.

The following is a history of professional repairs per invoices since purchasing, all parts were bought from XK's Unlimited or Martin Robey Sales (Warwickshire, England) or Worldpac OEM..... Jan. '99 purchased high end sheepskin seat covers to save the leather, that worked out fine as you can see in the fotos... Jan-Nov. '99 engine rebuilt to

Car to be at auction 6/16
    russoandsteele.com/vehicle-details/

    Auction description:
    NEWPORT BEACH 2016 CONSIGNMENTS
    1968 Jaguar E-Type FHC XKE S1.5
    Consignment # 6096
Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale WITHOUT RESERVE and SOLD to the highest bidder June 10th - 12th , 2016 at Russo and Steele's 4th Annual Newport Beach California Auction. Please contact us for more information.

Numbered 1E35164, this highly desirable 'Series 1.5' Jaguar XKE Fixed-Head Coupe (FHC) is exceptionally original, being never fully restored but very well maintained and preserved to the highest of standards. A complete numbers matching example confirmed by the corresponding Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, 1E35164 was built on February 2, 1968, factory-finished in color code 1054 Silver Blue Metallic, and dispatched from the factory on May 24, 1968.

With only two prior owners, the Consignor became the third caretaker of 1E35164 on December 2, 1998 at approximately 28,000 indicated miles, with the Jaguar benefiting from heated garage storage and avoidance of road salt. In January 1999, the XKE was picked up in Michigan and driven back to San Diego over the next three days with no issue, notwithstanding the need for an engine rebuild, which was completed immediately thereafter to pre-1967 specs using standard-size 9:1 pistons and updating of the cylinder head for unleaded gasoline. Supporting systems were addressed to match, including the clutch, updated HD cooling system, exhaust, and the addition of new rear shocks. and the clutch. Invoices accompanying the XKE document the history of professional repair and maintenance work since it was purchased by the Consignor, including parts bought from either XK's Unlimited or Martin Robey Sales, Warwickshire, England. When purchasing parts, OEM and NOS items were first sought, followed by updated or superseded parts, and then aftermarket items or usable parts from different makes, as in the case of the modern R134a air conditioning system, which was professionally installed during the summer of 2015. Carefully maintained, preserved, and serviced throughout its long-term current ownership, the XKE continues to benefit handsomely from a bare-metal repaint performed in 2003. A complete timeline listing all work performed to the Jaguar since 1999 accompanies the corresponding auction file. A wonderfully preserved and highly enjoyable example throughout, this very special 'Series 1.5' XKE is ready to appreciate and enjoy, with the undeniable overall feel that only a car like this can possibly deliver.
