2012 Calendars available Dec 11!

If you got here via Coventry Racers, XK Data, Saloon Data, XJS Data, XJ6 Data, XJ220 Data or Healey Data, this blog can't "live" on multiple domains as the blogging software doesn't support it. The items discussed below apply to all domains, and I'll endeavor to highlight items from all sites.

Social Media?

So it occurs to me that it would be easy enough to spit out updates of the various sites to a twitter feed. And I guess that feed could easily update a facebook “fan” page. So…

Not that many people peek in here, but would either of you find these useful? I’m a professional web developer as well as a designer, and even I cringe a bit when people spout about “web 2.0″ being the best thing since thin single-servings of bread. But if it would genuinely benefit some of you, I’m willing to give it a shot.

I suppose an alternative is to simply have RSS feeds for the “latest news” pages.

Anyway, let me know in the comments here if you’re interested in any of this. One thing I do know is that I probably wouldn’t be a great steward of a facebook fan page, the twitter updates would probably be about the only thing that would appear there.

  1. Either? You mean somebody other than me reads and comments here? ;)

Six or half dozen… doesn’t matter to me.

  2. I think it’s a great idea. Don’t you have a lot of Facebook friends who are weird car people?

  3. I think a Facebook page with maybe one update a day would be great, and shouldn’t take too much time. I set one up for my E Type restoration and mostly have been posting one of the restoration pix and a comment or two about once a day. i try to inject some of the latest news too, and you’d probably do mostly that, but tossing photos (actually, links to XKEData photos, which should show a thumbnail on FB) onto the page would be a nice mix. Rafe Saber has a great group on FB too (for XK & E Type owners). I’ll add those links here so you can see if either look like a potentially useful approach for XKEData on FB:
